At PLC Joinery, we are committed to delivering exceptional cabinetry that meets the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. Our warranty ensures your investment is protected while providing you with additional peace of mind.

10-Year Structural Warranty

PLC Joinery guarantees that any cabinet carcass will maintain its structural integrity for 10 years from the date of installation under normal domestic use. Structural integrity refers to the cabinet remaining free from breaking or cracking due to manufacturing defects or materials failure.

Blum Hardware Warranty

We exclusively use Blum components in our cabinetry, ensuring long-lasting performance. Blum hardware, including drawer runners, hinges, and drawers, is backed by a Lifetime Warranty for original purchasers.

Warranty Inclusions

Our warranty covers:

  • Cabinet carcasses for structural defects for up to 10 years.
  • Doors, benchtops, and internal fittings, subject to the terms of manufacturer-limited warranties.

Warranty Exclusions

The following are not covered under the PLC Joinery warranty:

  1. Third-Party Trades: Costs for other trades (e.g., plumbers, electricians, tilers, painters) during warranty repairs.
  2. Appliances or Accessories: These items are not part of our cabinetry and are covered by their respective manufacturer warranties.
  3. Defects in Specific Lighting Conditions: Defects must be visible from a distance of 1500mm under “noncritical” lighting conditions. Direct sunlight, spotlights, or torchlight do not apply.
  4. Natural Occurrences: Damage caused by house shifting, exposure to sunlight, heat, or water.
  5. Improper Installation: Issues arising from delivery or installation not performed by PLC Joinery or its subcontractors.
  6. Modifications and Improper Care: Unapproved alterations or the use of unsuitable cleaning products.
  7. Outdoor Kitchens and Commercial Projects: These are excluded from warranty coverage, along with cabinetry valued under $5,500 (GST inclusive).

Additional Terms

  1. Original Purchaser Only: The warranty applies exclusively to the original purchaser who retains the original purchase receipt or invoice.
  2. Product Replacement: If a product is discontinued or unavailable, we will provide a replacement that closely matches in size, shape, and value at our discretion.
  3. Standards Compliance: The warranty adheres to the requirements of AS/NZS 4386 and the HIA Guide to Kitchen & Bathroom Construction.
  4. Australian Consumer Law: Our warranty complements your rights under Australian Consumer Law, ensuring remedies for major failures or defects.

Warranty Claims

To lodge a claim, simply complete the form below or email info@plcjoinery.com.au with the following details:

  • Project reference number and address.
  • Your name and contact information.
  • A description of the issue, accompanied by photographs

After receiving your claim, PLC Joinery will contact you within 10 working days. We reserve the right to inspect the alleged defect. If the claim does not fall under the warranty, a call-out fee of $150 + GST applies.

Repairs and Replacements

Warranty-related replacements or repairs may require re-hinging, drilling, or installation. In such cases:

  • A call-out fee of $150 + GST is applicable (includes the first hour of labor).
  • Additional labor is charged at $120 + GST per hour.

Care and Maintenance

Proper care extends the life of your cabinetry. Follow these guidelines:

Laminate

  • Wipe with a damp, soft cloth and warm soapy water.
  • Avoid abrasive cleaners or polishes.

Two-Pack Paint

  • Use warm soapy water for cleaning.
  • Avoid abrasives or solvent-based products.

Solid Timber

  • Dust with a soft cloth in the grain’s direction.
  • Use protective oils every three months.
